Project Update... who's launched and who will launch soon!
« on: June 30, 2012, 03:27:14 PM »
Recently launched (a 26' GA built in aluminum), built by Butch V. down in Oregon:

To launch soon, a 26' GA (with 2' sponsons), built by Adrian P. also down in Oregon:

Probably to launch later this year, a 28' GA with raised sides and bulwark, built by Doug C. in Palmer, AK:

Enjoy!

12 hrs on da ol puta, think I have it almost to scale and Brians profile of the Pr. Rupert....
Been a rear day raining here, so, there we have it.
She's a bit higher on the top sides forward of the helm door aboat 250mm & coach roof, aboat 350mm.
May & may not have a keel/skeg yet. Is safer for those hard spots in the water, but will impead on planing.
Shaft will be aboat 7 deg at this stage. Prop a 4 blade 22 x 23 or 24, I read a 105% load is good at WOT, so will make the area for the prop so up to 24" will fit.
I have the cockpit as low as can be - for fishing ideally at LWL, don't like continual wet feet so it'll be 6" above LWL & the coaming 26" the ideal height to get that fish in the net! So she's almost as originally drawn down aft.
Never keen on the saloon sole being higher than the cockpit, but there we have it. Gotta fit a donk under it.
There's 2 built in 500 Lt diesel epoxy tanks either side of the original LVL's (That's aboat $1200 - $1600 to fill guys  :-\) A day tank with fuel cooler & polisher will be a mild steel job epoxied, just aft the saloon bulkhead easily accessible for those cleaning days.
Separate sealed (from the storage area almost across the cockpit) will be an electrical area for batteries and all those things that we want 'one day' a solar controller and shore charger for the batteries will slot in there.
Thinking for ease of install a hydrolic steering system with a back up tiller - like yachts - the rudder post having a square milled top that the tiller can attach. Used them on yachts before (and an oar!) they're not to much trouble to use.

Hey ... I love the updates!  "who will launch soon" sounds pretty subjective to me ... Show us your boat!
