The new Camp Boat 14 design is done!
« on: February 26, 2018, 11:40:18 AM »
The Camp Boat 14 design is done!  Plans are free if you intend to build - the only thing I ask is progress pix (and pix of completed boat), and feedback on the plans - what worked and what didn't, etc.  Contact us (http://www.glacierboats.com ) if interested.

Thanks,
Brian

If he doesn't realize immediately that Ed's Arch is in there, you're probably ok.

What he don't know, he don't need ta know....

Yes ... build my 14-teener.  I built a boat similar to the Camp Boat 14 with my son when he was only 8 years old.  At 13, they're more ready than at 8 ... I say go for it.  Let me know if you'd like a complimentary set of plans for the CB14....

Nope - Lots of looky-loos, no builders.  I'm going to re-do it .... same boat, but simpler construction and will (thank you, Dave Nolan) turn the U-shaped seat in the stern around to make it better for tiller steer....

Does this design support length to 16?

2-foot-itis already?  LOL....

The panels, as presented, fit on 8' sheets of ply and use simple glass and/or butt-block joints.  You could likely space out the stations and raise the sides a bit and do it.  I could also design one for 16' pretty quickly.  There are those that rejected this design because they want a shorter, lighter, car topper too.  Are you seriously considering building a 16 footer?

Not yet.  Just noodling.  I'm having so much fun with my short skinny GA I have thought about building a light quick easy build for sale on speculation.  A short widebody is just a bit oversized for what I'm thinking.    I'm nearing (I hope) retirement, but still need something to pull in a extra few hundred bucks without a "job".   Like I said. Just noodling.  I would have a discussion with you off forum before starting such endeavors.

I would think you have a steady market for jet boats in your neck of the woods.  Here too for that matter.

I've got a jet boat mostly designed but need to work out the details and scantlings etc.... time is my most scarce resource though.  Eventually.... :D

I would think you could sell drift boat plans as well

I've thought the same thing.... maybe when my todo list is done!  :D  Seriously though, I do plan on expanding the line-up and you're picking all the boats that I've been thinking of.  Well ... you forgot the pontoon boat, but oh well :)
