GA 26 in Homer Alaska
« on: November 02, 2013, 01:10:15 PM »
Hello all - Dave in Homer here.  I'll be making a series of posts to try to catch you up on my build.  Built a shop in 2012 and got it ready in January 2013.  I had decided on the GA versus the Jumbo over a year ago and been working pretty steady on it.  Here are pics from last January.  Feel free to reply or PM if you have comments or questions.

OK, last post for today, which will take us through the flip, which happened on the 4th of July.  I have more pics reduced for posting if anyone wants more detail. But I gotta get out to the shop now.

Cheers,

Dave in Homer

Looking good, Dave!  Did you put foam in the house ceiling and a second skin?  Looks like you may have...  In any case, it looks like you're making rapid progress and a Spring launch is very likely!

Brian - yes, I used R-Max 1/2" polyisocyanurate insulation.

Thanks... I think it's a good idea to foam the roof here in Alaska, to help reduce condensation and make the house warmer.

...and here are some pics of the roof sandwich assembly going together.  Did some pre-wiring for the cabin ceiling lights, running lights, horn, deck lights, using the 1/2" space.

Happy Yule and best wishes for the new year to all,
