Important tank bottom support

When I was a wee nipper apprentice boat builder, we always supported the complete base/bottom of fuel tanks.
Any flexing cracked welds and folds in metal tanks.
Below is a site I urge those of you building metal tanks read.


Briefly, bottoms of tanks hold the total weight of the fuel - a 30 gal tank will weigh 240 lb, (110kg) approx.
This weight has also the pounding effect on the bottom of your tank when you are at sea!
The bottom panel WILL rip off the internal baffles first.
